How to Tile a Concrete Bench

Before

After

Our small concrete bench was looking quite weathered so Hubster and I decided to perk it up with a new tile top. Tile is SO EASY! We picked out tiles from a local big box hardware store and had a few tiles cut to size right at the store for free.
Use a quick set adhesive and spread evenly and then stick on the tiles. We didn't even use spacers because tiles can be pushed around for about 30 minutes before the tiles are permanently stuck.

After tiles are securely stuck the next step is grout. Mix it to a dry crumbly texture and smash it over the entire surface. Use a little water and sponge to push grout into spaces between the tiles. After about 30 minutes wash the excess grout off the tiles and after another hour buff the tiles with a rag or square of carpet. And project is complete!

So Hubster did a great job on the tile and I got to do a great job cleaning up all the tools :)

  1. Cool! Are you going to tile those stairs you're sitting on next? :-)
